What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Midwest Filtration LLC?
The Material Handler is responsible for receipt of incoming freight both manually and in the MRP System. This employee will be transferring materials from stock to production by performing the following duties. The Materials Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations. This employee will also coordinate with a team to maximize efficiency, paying careful attention to detail, ensuring proper completion.

- Maintaining the physical requirements to complete the job (The ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which could include sitting and/or standing for most of the day)
- Must be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds infrequently
Responsibility:
RECEIVING
- Receives incoming materials through use of fork truck or lifting
- Ensures that items received match items indicated on bill of lading/packing list
- Examines articles for defects and notes them on the Bill of Lading
- Quarantines the defective material in the Nonconformance area
- Enters receipts into MRP system, prints labels as required
MATERIAL HANDLING
- Transfers received materials in MRP system and physically moves materials to proper inventory location
- Physically and in MRP system transfers materials from inventory location to production floor as required
- Physically and in MRP system transfers materials from department to inventory locations when production is complete
SHIPPING
- Packages orders for shipment from various departments using shrink wrap machine, hand wrapping and banding materials
- Moves packaged product to shipping dock
- Labels shipments and puts packing list and Bill of Lading (if required) on shipments
- Stages UPS shipments
- Loads outbound trailers with shipments when they arrive for pickup
- Notifies Manager of any receipts which contain defects
ISO
- Actively participates in the Shipping Process which has been identified as a Key Process
- Assist In Development of any ISO policies/procedures for your function
- Adhere to Company ISO policies/procedures
- Other projects and duties as may be assigned
