Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Billing Specialist located in Oak Creek, WI. The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for processing and managing medical billing and claims, handling insurance denials, and ensuring compliance coding standards. Day-to-day tasks include: verifying insurance information, submitting claims to Medicare and other insurance providers, following up on unpaid claims, and resolving billing discrepancies. The specialist will work closely with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure accurate and timely billing.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology and coding standards
- Experience handling Insurance claims and Denials
- Familiarity with Medicare billing requirements
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a medical billing role is preferred
- Associate's degree or certification in medical billing and coding is a plus
