Midwest Psychological is seeking a full time Community Engagement Coordinator to work at the New Castle Correctional Facility.
The CEC is responsible for the development and coordination of all volunteer services within the facility. The CEC is responsible for developing a working relationship with area resources by monitoring the volunteer needs of the facility and seeing that those needs are fulfilled, developing and providing volunteer training, and monitoring the effectiveness of the volunteer programs offered. The CEC functions as an advisor to staff and offenders on all matters concerning volunteer services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directs the planning, development, recruitment, performance and review of facility volunteer programming and training to achieve the objectives of the facilities goals.
- Oversee all volunteer programs utilizing community resources and assuring that programs are developed and implemented commensurate with acceptable standards.
- Provides information to the public and community agencies regarding general questions about the facility.
- Coordinates ongoing volunteer programs, volunteer recruitment and volunteer orientation and in-service training as well as coordinating guest speakers and assuring that policies and procedures are followed.
- Represents the facility at community service organization and religious programming meetings and in contacts with local community service personnel.
- Conducts tours of the facility, presents informal education programs for local community service agencies, and assists in the training of all volunteers.
- Maintains a specialized knowledge of community-based programs, agencies and governmental entities that have relevance to community service program areas and goals.
- Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with these programs, agencies, and entities.
Minimum Requirements:
- The knowledge and skills to develop and implement program goals and objectives in the area of community service programming.
- A specialized knowledge of volunteer policy and procedures.
- A thorough knowledge of the facility mission, vision, goals, objectives, programs and procedures.
- A specialized knowledge of community services agencies and the ability to plan, develop, recruit and supervise the coordination of community service programs with other related agencies.
- High school diploma
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,000.00 - $33,400.00 per year
