Description

Responsible for all activities related to written communication of the outcome of organ, tissue and cornea donation. Supports Donor Family Services with event planning and execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ADMINISTRATIVE

  1. Creates, customizes and distributes accurate and timely donor letter communications to the families of organ, tissue and eye donors.
  2. Ability to independently research and facilitate communication with multiple industry partners (transplant centers, tissue processors, researchers, etc.) to accurately deliver information to donor families.
  3. Engages in accurate and timely letter communication with hospital staff, surgeons and other designated individuals involved in the organ (and tissue if applicable) donation process.
  4. Executes the timely mailing of appropriate designated items to accompany donor family letters.
  5. Maintains an accurate and updated Letter Sent Listing Log.
  6. Maintains records of donor family correspondence in Docuware.
  7. Reviews and evaluates organ and tissue letter Quality dashboards to identify opportunities for improvement.
  8. Collaborates with Quality Department and MTN Medical Director/CCO to draft and send accurate and timely positive serology letters to donors’ legal next of kin.
  9. Collaborates with the Donation Services Department (DSD) and the Family Services Coordinators (FSCs) to send Donor in Spirit Letters to families who authorize donation, but ultimately are not able to donate.
  10. Initiates and participates in performance improvement projects to enhance service to donor families.
  11. Independently provides onboarding to Family Services Coordinators regarding proofing and approving Initial Outcome Letters.
  12. Assists with planning and execution of donor family events. Assumes leadership for event specific responsibilities (T-shirt sales, picture booth, set up, etc.)
  13. Assists with donor family communication/follow up mailings.
  14. Collaborates with IT for completion of User Acceptance Testing related to donor family communication in TrueNorth.
  15. Develops relationships with local and satellite (MOUM) transplant centers to assist with obtaining recipient outcome information for donor family follow-up correspondence.
  16. Initiates and engages in process improvements for DCC job duties and processes.
  17. Assists with Annual SOP review to ensure policies are in alignment with practices related to donor family communication and correspondence.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Undergraduate degree in a business, education or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  2. Health care experience beneficial.
  3. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends to represent MTN at meetings and events.
  4. Advanced proficiency in utilizing various databases, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn MTN specific medical records and tracking programs.
  5. Extremely high level of attention to detail.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated dedication to organizational mission.
  8. Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy.  Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.  Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
  9. Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
  10. Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and office equipment.
  11. Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information to in person or by phone.
  12. OSHA Category III – No exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties.
  13. Home internet and wireless phone access may be required.
