The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Speech-Language Pathology Program. Faculty with expertise in the following areas are encouraged to apply: dysphagia, motor speech, voice disorders.  The graduate program offers the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree.

A faculty member in the Speech-Language Pathology Program has responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities include engaging in evidence-based classroom instruction and providing clinical education in the Midwestern University Speech-Language Institute.  Scholarship requirements include development of a productive line of scholarship that results in dissemination. Service responsibilities include membership on Program, College, and University committees, assisting with the student recruitment and admissions process, contributing to the preparation of program self-study and accreditation documents, professional role-modeling, and participating actively in the professional activities of state and national organizations.

Applicants must hold a Master’s or Doctoral (preferred) degree in Speech-Language Pathology and evidence potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must hold certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP) for a minimum of 9 months at the time of interview and must hold or be eligible for state licensure in Arizona. Prior teaching experience (clinical or academic), scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application. Rank is open and dependent upon experience. The Speech-Language Pathology program is housed in the College of Health Sciences along with Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Cardiovascular Science, Graduate Nursing Programs, and Nurse Anesthesia.
