Job Summary:
The Aftercare Counselor is responsible for supervising and engaging children in a safe, nurturing environment during after-school hours. This role includes leading age-appropriate activities, supporting daily routines, maintaining a clean and organized space, and ensuring the well-being of all children in accordance with program policies and licensing standards. Strong communication, patience, and a positive attitude are essential.
Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- To work as a team in creating a warm and stimulating environment for children to learn.
- To work as a team in assessing the needs and interest of each child.
- To work as a team in planning and executing daily activities appropriate to each child’s level of cognitive and physical development making the activities creative and fun for the children in the program.
- To assist children with daily routines, dressing, bathroom routine, washing, eating, napping, realizing that young children often need help in such tasks. Depending on the age and development of the child, bathroom routine may include changing diapers or pull-ups and potty training.
- To be responsible for the general welfare of the children in terms of health and safety as specified in DYFS Manual of standards.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.75 - $17.75 per hour
