Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Inc. seeks Civil Engineer in Chicago, IL.
Duties: Manage gas design projects to find the optimal placement for gas distribution lines. Manage and track the project schedules to meet client expectations. Understand client standards and maintain a high level of quality in adherence to those standards. Communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, consultants, etc. on a daily basis to coordinate projects and design requirements.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or a related field, plus 6 months of experience. Also requires experience with the following:
-6 months of experience with distribution engineering design in the natural gas industry, including main replacement design, regulator sizing/design, horizontal directional drilling, jack and bores, DOT relocation analysis and design, and field locating.
-6 months of experience using Wrike for project management.
-6 months of experience using AutoCAD for engineering design.
Also requires any amount of experience:
-Managing a volume of 10-15 ongoing projects.
-Negotiating conflicts with work being done by public agencies.
-Implementing permitting standards for various municipalities, railroad entities, and 3rd party utilities.
-Using Federal codes related to gas design, including CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8.
