Milton Town School District is seeking an innovative, dynamic, and collaborative Special Educator to join our school district for our elementary grade level, starting the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills and deep knowledge of the Common Core State Standards, VT Special Education, and 504 Regulations. Proficient in co-planning and co-teaching a universally designed curriculum in an integrated school setting. Position Responsibilities 1.Instruct students according to their developmental needs and collaborate with other school staff members.2.Develop and implement IEPs and /or related service plans for assigned students.3.Maintain necessary records and paperwork regarding individual students and programs.
Use forms and guidelines in Special Education Handbook.4.Initiate, encourage, and participate in individual conferences with students, teachers, parents, and outside agencies.5.Participate as a school-based Educational Support Team and Evaluation Planning Team member.6.Conduct an annual evaluation and other comprehensive assessments as required. Communicate evaluation results to parents and staff.7.Collaborate with other staff members, administrators, and/or human resource groups in promoting an inclusionary service delivery model.8.As appropriate, provide leadership and staff development to instructional assistants and other staff members. Demonstrate current best practices in teaching and learning.9.Participate in all meetings with the building principal and Director of Student Services.10.Carries out the appropriate duties assigned by the Director of Student Services or building administrators.
