What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Staff - Late Night League- Part Time-Spring position at Milwaukee Public Schools?
Serve as building personnel in the operation and supervision of the Late Night League program.
This is a part-time position.
Provide a safe environment for teams, participants, and spectators.
Assist with crowd control and maintaining order within the facility.
Assist with scanning and entry control operations.
Auxillary support to the game manager with all crisis intervention management potential hostile situations.
Assist with providing general direction and instructions to spectators.
Assist with overall host management responsibilities.
Set-up crowd control and safety equipment.
Provide secure and safe dressing facilities for teams and officials
Assist with the staging with pre and post-game activities.
Other duties as assigned.
In EMERGENCIES: (1) Maintains presence at Late Night entry door and assists with directing EMS personnel (if needed); (1) Assists Building Director.
Reports to the MPS Late Night/Twilight League Recreation Supervisor of Sports
Good communication skills with participants and spectators
Good working knowledge of the MPS Recreation Sports procedures, policies, programs, and services
Ability to identify and deescalate a hostile/volatile situation
Ability to work well with co-workers and support staff able to delegate job duties as needed
Successful completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
Garrett Metal Detection System and MPS Athletics Training session.
Available to complete 8 hour training course on CPI and Garrett Metal Detection System.

Previous experience working in a public setting that involves diverse groups of people
One year of progressive experience supervising teens and adults
One year of experience managing a program or service operation
Preferred experience working with large groups independently
Preferred CPR/First training experience
Fast learner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Commitment to the development of young adults in the Milwaukee Community.
Contributes as a team member-friendly, cooperative, efficient, and responds professionally to feedback.
