This position is classified as a Building Facilities Maintenance Technician and the hiring range is $24.16hr to $26.65/hr with full earning potential of $34.95/hr. If hired as a Senior Building Facilities Maintenance Technician, the hiring range is $26.65/hr to $29.41/hr with full earning potential of $38.58/hr.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Perform semi-skilled installation, adjustment, and repair work on HVAC equipment.
- Maintain and repair boilers, chillers, roof top units, air handling units, VAV boxes, pneumatic controls, and DDC controls.
- Maintain the electrical and mechanical security systems. Troubleshoot electrical problems and motor controls.
- Operate equipment including bobcats, forklifts, lawn mowers, trucks, dump trucks, scissor lifts, boom trucks, generators, air compressors, chain hoists, and snow removal equipment.
- May perform other carpentry, electrical, and plumbing duties as needed including remodeling, floor work and repair, and maintaining and repairing locks, kitchen appliances, and doors.
If incumbent is hired as a "Senior Building Facilities Maintenance Technician", the duties listed are performed at a skilled level.
What You Need to Succeed in this Role
High school diploma or GED plus two years of work experience in HVAC or other building trade. Consideration for appointment as Senior Building Facilities Maintenance Technician requires four years of HVAC work experience. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered for either level of position. Possession of a valid driver's license and must maintain a safe driving record. Will be scheduled for a rotating "on call" schedule and required to carry a cell phone or pager to be available for work outside of regular schedule. Must be available to work at all times during the "on call" schedule and therefore must not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. Must pass a pre-employment background process.
Basic knowledge of HVAC theory and practices. Basic working knowledge of the principles and practices of electrical systems and plumbing installation. Considerable knowledge of the technical and operating methods, tools, and equipment used in testing, repairing, constructing, and maintaining electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing installations. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, ordinances, and regulations relating to plumbing, HVAC, heating and cooling, electrical installations, and fixtures. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public. Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
Other Applicable Experience
Vocational diploma in any of the building trades. Familiarity with Siemens Design building automation systems. Carpentry, electrical, and/or plumbing experience. Possession of computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
