This position is located at the Northwest Resident Office in Golden Valley and will work in the office or may have some flexibility to work a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

This position will provide administrative support services for the Golden Valley Northwest Resident Office to maintain an even flow of information and work. This work includes answering phone calls, maintaining a filing system both paper and electronic, distribution of mail, assisting the Office Manager with reviewing project submittals as well as assisting the Golden Valley Northwest Construction staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Data entry experience sufficient to scan and update information into spreadsheets and databases.
  • Knowledge of English sufficient to speak, read, understand and respond to written and oral communications with internal and external customers; and to file and retrieve information based on content, using alphabetical filing practices.
  • Word Processing experience sufficient to create memos, letters, flyers, meeting agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Math skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Experience with spreadsheet software applications sufficient to create, maintain and update lists, tables and logs.
  • Customer Service Skills on the phone, in person and online to provide effective general office support and resolve routine customer issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing administrative assistance to a large contract administration or construction office.
  • Experience working with the MnDOT AASHTOWARE document management network.
  • Experience using Civil Rights Labor Software (CRL) to review, monitor and resolve payroll issues.
