Minnesota Housing is hiring! We’re a mission-focused financial institution looking for a Data & Reporting Analyst who will play a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making and operational excellence. This individual will support reporting and analytics efforts, ensure data accuracy and integrity across multiple systems, identify gaps in data and assist business users with data-related changes. They play a key role in ensuring data is standardized, clean, and usable across various platforms. Essential Job Duties

  • Independently analyzes reporting needs identified by division management and program teams to support operational and management goals. Partner with business users, program teams, and leadership to understand needs and translate them into reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring and ad hoc report requests from multiple locations such as databases, servers and the data lake (future).Partner with Stakeholders to ensure that reports and analysis are accurate, produced timely, meet their needs, and provide consistent, predictable and reliable results.
  • Provide program and data analysis and forecasting, developing queries to identify and analyze trends, variances and performance indicators. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on data interpretation, metrics, and performance measures.
  • Present actionable insights to management and division staff to support business decisions and drive strategic decision making for programs and activities.
  • Identify and resolve data gaps, ensuring reports include required data and support strategic goals. Troubleshoot, resolve issues and ensure data is accurate and provides useful, relevant information.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality assurance for reporting and analysis.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned business intelligence tools, providing guidance on tool use, data interpretation, and reporting functionality.
  • Support systems used in the Single Family team and collaborate with leaders and business partners to optimize performance and implement improvements.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance process and procedure documentation ensuring accurate, detailed and updated timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.


  • 3 (Three) years of experience in data reporting doing report design and development, including complex query writing and dashboard creation using business intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science or Analysis, and Information Systems may substitute for 12 months of experience – or – an Associate degree in the listed fields may substitute for 6 months of experience.
  • Experience in SQL and relational databases, data auditing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles, including the ability to clean, standardize, and ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Excel, including experience creating and maintaining advanced workbooks, working with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), and developing tools to extract and aggregate data from multiple source files.
  • Experience implementing data quality control activities and conducting structured data reviews, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot data issues, resolve discrepancies, and improve reporting processes.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users and work collaboratively across teams to align data practices with business goals.
  • Cultural competency as demonstrated by skills for communication and interaction across cultures and awareness of one’s own world view and that different world views exist


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries across large datasets, along with experience using Python for data analysis and processing.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise content management (ECM) tools for document processing and data management tasks.
  • Experience supporting periodic data quality review cycles, including developing documentation and tools, and creating and maintaining data flow diagrams and documentation of data sources and architecture.
  • Prior experience working with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill data requests in compliance with organizational policies and practices.
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity in designing scalable tools, automating manual data tasks, and improving operational efficiency.
