Facilities Director
Reports To: VP – Administration & Finance

Summary:
The Facilities Director at Minot State University is responsible for overseeing all aspects of campus facilities operations, including custodial services, maintenance, repairs, renovations, new construction, mail services, surplus property, and state fleet management. This role ensures safety, compliance, and efficiency across all facility projects while managing a diverse team and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and supervise all aspects of campus facilities operations.
  • Manage budgeting, financial planning, and cost control for facilities.
  • Oversee maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.
  • Coordinate building and grounds projects from planning through completion.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise facilities staff and promote continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Contribute to long-range campus master planning and capital programming.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, related field or a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in higher education or institutional facilities management.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and environmental regulations.
