JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY

Assist the Recut Operator in the processing of steel tubes by safely performing the following duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read and understand all packaging aspects of work order.

• Able to use necessary tools such as nail gun, table saw, and banding equipment.

• Properly use and be able to read micrometer, calipers, and tape measure.

• Assist operator with set-up and adjust the brushes and loading bank on the deburring machine.

• Responsible for the packaging of tube for shipping or storing, including wire cages, blue bins, gaylord cartons, customer racks and wood frame bundles.

• Set up packaging area and determine the quantity of packaging supplies that will be needed for the job being run.

• Inspect quality and understand different types of defects while handling and packaging finished tube.

• Properly support, work with and follow direction of Recut Operator.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write and type routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate/ratio/percent and to interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, bend over, use hands and fingers, and talk/hear. The associate must occasionally lift more than 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Reliable Transportation & Driver's License

Schedule: 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Monday - Friday)

Mandatory OT as Required from 2:00pm - 12:00am

Mandatory OT on Saturdays as Required

Compensation: $17.00 per hour (Weekly Pay)
