What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Miratech?
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Cooperates with: All Departments
Primary Responsibility: Maintain financial procedures and confirm financial compliance through preparation reports and statements
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable transactions
- Invoice customers
- Communicate with customers to insure timely payment of invoices and report to senior management regarding past due balances
- Maintain paperless accounts payable process
- Process deposits daily
- Weekly reconciliation of corporate payment processes
- Assist with year-end inventory count
- Assist Controller with monthly close processes, including journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Document processes, recommend and initiate improvements
- Assist with annual budget and subsequent variance reporting
Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university
- Experience with transactional accounting such as Accounts Payable and Receivable
- 3-5 years of experience with month-end closing, financial reporting, balance sheets reconciliations and journal entries
- Four or more years of experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable in a high production environment
- Experience with an ERP system such as: Syspro, Great Plains, Oracle, SAP or other similar mid to top tier package
- Proficient in relevant computer applications; Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Documented success in problem solving and creative solutions
- Experience with managing time
- Documented success to meet project deadlines and performance goals
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work with budgets and create actual to plan
- Functional expert with ERP systems and transferring data to Microsoft Office applications such as Excel
