The Miscoe Hill Middle School is seeking a candidate to fill the full time role of a Paraprofessional.
Job Goal:
To help students needing intensive support in returning to school after prolonged absences, while working in close collaboration with the programs mental health coordinator and each individual student's school-based team.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements the academic component of the overall case management plan for each student in Bridge
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, including modifying existing curriculum
- Develops and maintains a work tracking and academic data management system for students in Bridge
- Pro-actively communicates with teacher colleagues and school administrators regarding the academic program, requirements, progress, and status of each student in Bridge
- Engages in consistent two-way communication with the families of Bridge students to keep them updated and gather feedback and information to support student learning and well-being
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to meet the needs of each student
- Guides the learning process through instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting objectives, including leading small-group and 1:1 sessions with students
- Monitors student progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required
- Collaborates with colleagues, students, and families on a regular basis
- Monitors progress of Bridge students who have transitioned out of the program
