Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will support the development, safety, and well-being of children in a nurturing environment. This role involves working closely with children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring they receive attentive care and engaging educational activities. Duties
- Assist in supervising and engaging children during indoor and outdoor activities to promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment
- Help implement age-appropriate curriculum activities focused on childhood development and early learning skills
- Provide attentive care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed
- Support teachers with lesson planning, classroom setup, and activity execution
- Monitor children's behavior and assist in behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities and children's progress
- Assist with special needs support for children with disabilities or developmental delays when required
- Maintain documentation related to children's development milestones and daily routines
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or classroom settings is preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children is highly desirable
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Background in special education or experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
