Lead Inspector

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Quality Inspector to oversee quality assurance processes at our metal manufacturing facility specializing in precision components for the aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet stringent aerospace standards and customer specifications through detailed inspections, process audits, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections of machined and fabricated aerospace components
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements
• Supervise and train a team of quality inspectors; assign tasks and review work
• Maintain calibration records, inspection documentation, and non-conformance reports
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and QA teams to resolve quality issues
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace or precision metal manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, CMM operation, and aerospace industry standards
• Experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
• Familiarity with quality systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) and documentation practices
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Certifications such as ASQ CQT or CQI
• Experience with ERP and quality management systems
