Must have experience in purchasing material for company, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelors degree preferred. Makes material purchases on behalf of the organization for manufacturing or general purposes. All purchases are sought to be best price for appropriate quality. Many purchases are made according to lean manufacturing standards and scheduled for "just-in-time" delivery. Balance between cost, inventory, and quality must always be ensured. Maintain appropriate purchasing records, including but not limited to purchase orders, invoices, delivery documentation, and inventory. Coordinate material delivery to coincide with production schedules.
