What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employer Services Analyst position at Missouri State Employees' Retirement System?
About MOSERS
MOSERS is a team-oriented, public pension system made up of passionate, hard-working individuals. Our team believes our members’ financial security comes first. Whether we’re collecting member data from our employers, producing print and electronic materials, providing educational seminars, counseling members, investing trust fund assets, or working on the various systems that support our mission and staff, we are all collaborating to serve our members.
MOSERS is seeking a hardworking and meticulous individual for our Employer Services Analyst opening. This position reports to our Employer Services Supervisor and is based in our office in Jefferson City. This position communicates regularly with our Employers (state agencies and universities) regarding member pay and service records, so familiarity with the State of Missouri's payroll system, SAM II, is a plus. This position is part of team that will play an integral role in ensuring a smooth transition to MOSERS' new pension administration system (PAS) over the next year. As a result of this implementation, some of the technical aspects of this position will change, such as how member data is received, reporting errors are corrected, and workflows are accessed. We're looking for a new team member who is not afraid of change and is excited to help us make the transition to the new system.

- Analyze data submitted by employers, identify discrepancies between actual and expected contribution and deduction data and resolve issues through direct contact and collaboration with employer representatives and internal staff
- Collect underpayments or refund overpayments of contributions and deductions and calculate and verify payroll adjustments as needed
- Communicate with members to address life and long-term disability insurance billing and enrollment questions
- Educate, train, and assist employers with eligibility and reporting requirements and provide technical assistance in the use of MOSERS’ systems
- Review relevant correspondence, procedures updates, publications, and employer educational content for accuracy and clarity
- Perform a variety of audits and checks of contribution, deduction, and member benefit eligibility data to ensure the accuracy of member benefits
- Verify and process refunds of member contributions
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Has a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or closely related field
- Relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirement
- Has experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

- Has the ability to analyze large sets of data and identify errors
- Has the ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Enjoys change and learning new computer programs and systems
