Job Description
The Gas and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory (GPDL) directed by Dr. Han at Missouri University of Science and Technology is expected to have an opening of High School Research Assistant/Intern for the academic year 2025-2026.
The prospective research assistant/intern will work with the research group on several NASA funded projects related to lunar exploration and resource utilization

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Job Description
The Gas and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory (GPDL) directed by Dr. Han at Missouri University of Science and Technology is expected to have an opening of High School Research Assistant/Intern for the academic year 2025-2026.
The prospective research assistant/intern will work with the research group on several NASA funded projects related to lunar exploration and resource utilization
Expected research activities include,
- Literature review
- Study of user’s manual of facilities
- Data analysis (post-processing and visualization)
- Documentation of design/fabrication records and experiment data
- Assist in re-design of research hardware/instrument through physics-based and/or data-driven optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-motivated
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Have completed Advanced/Honors/AP courses (or equivalent college level) in Math (Calculus and Statistics), Physics, and Chemistry
- Have strong interest in STEM projects
- Commitment to completing the research project within the project performance period
