Job Summary
The student employee’s main duties lie in the management and execution of the policies and procedures of the Baker Family Fitness Center and Looney Complex, set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University (MWSU).
Essential Duties
- Validating MWSU ID’s and memberships upon arrival through the Banner system.
- Administering and checking required facility paperwork (i.e. assisting with record-keeping)
- Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned location.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities.
- Tracking equipment inventory through the Banner system.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- MWSU Student
- Degree Seeking
- At least an overall 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled at least part-time
- May need to qualify for Federal Work Study
Preferred Qualifications
- Exercise Science, Recreation, or Sports Management majors;
- or a strong background in health, fitness, nutrition, or management.
- Currently CPR/AED certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Demands
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Additional Demands
May be able to continue to work throughout the academic year starting in August if you meet student employment eligibility guidelines.

May work up to 37.5 hours per week in the summer months
Hours may vary.
