Project Architect / Architectural Designer

We are seeking Project Architects or Architectural Designers with 8 years of experience to join Mithun in Los Angeles. As a member of our integrated design team, you will work alongside other architects, interior designers, landscape architects, urban designers and urban planners to advance design & technical excellence, environmental performance and social justice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project typologies including creative workplace, cultural & educational environments and urban multi-family, affordable and student housing. We currently collaborate in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are flexible workdays that allow employees to work in the office or from home.

Requirements

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary design teams and client representatives.
• Explore and develop quality design ideas and innovative, thoughtful solutions, that address project goals aligned with Mithun’s values and approach.
• Create accurate architectural documentation for all phases of the design process.
• Create compelling design presentations using advanced graphic skills.
• Participate in project pursuits, client presentations and community engagement activities.
• Coordinate multiple consultants and engineered systems.
• Coach and mentor staff and guide project team members to achieve project milestones.
• Work effectively as both a team member and independently.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
• 8 years of post-graduate professional experience.
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
• Expertise in all phases of the design, documentation and construction administration processes.
• Flexible to play multiple roles across varied project types.
• Ability to lead Revit model development and adept at building information modeling.
• Ability to define and drive project milestones, facilitate project meetings and effectively coach team members.
• Prior experience in multifamily, mixed-use, and / or student housing preferred.
• Architectural registration is a plus.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $86,000-$100,000 per year. Pay ranges differ by location.
