What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Social Worker position at Mitzvah Circle?
At Mitzvah Circle, we think differently about people in need. We support individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness and serious illness, serving people walking along life’s edge by providing individualized material support, case management and coaching.
This new part-time Social Worker position will focus on social work referrals and will interact with hospitals, social service agencies, schools and other organizations who rely on Mitzvah Circle to meet the needs of their clients.
Position Overview:
- Must be proficient in the client intake process.
- Work with social workers at referring agencies to understand and clarify the needs of their clients.
- Assess how Mitzvah Circle can best meet the client’s needs.
- Thoroughly and accurately document Client’s needs in our Salesforce system.
- Triage requests from social workers based on severity of need.
- Scheduling social worker pick ups for their clients.
- Special Projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- BSW or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (degree must already be completed).
- Basic proficiency with data management systems.
- Basic knowledge of trauma-informed care.
- Experienced in documenting detailed case notes in a database.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented.
- Strong advocacy and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities are essential.
- Must be a self-starter, work well with others in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong critical thinking / problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
This position is part-time 20 hours a week. We have flexibility within our standard hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. This is an in-person position.
The Part-Time Social Worker will report to the Operations Manager.
