A new contract award has created the opportunity for a Systems Administrator I - Desktop Support to support our government customer in Springfield, VA.
Description
In this position, you will be a member of the Tier 1/2 Information Technology Enterprise End-User Computing Support team. You will support a wide array of systems, applications, and services spanning desktop operating systems (OSs), high-performance graphic workstations, thin clients, conferencing systems, multifunction devices, VOIP phone systems and cross-domain-solution endpoints.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving client computing requests, patching and workstation deployment for the customer’s IT business and mission-focussed enterprise systems
- Planning, receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively managing end user computing (EUC)
- Utilizing proprietary and common vendor-provided management tools to provide consistent desktop configuration and end-user experience
- Handling complex development requirements independently and supporting internally escalated tickets from the IT Enterprise Service Desk team.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
- 3 years of experience working in an enterprise IT desktop administrator role
- Demonstrated experience deploying and managing Microsoft Windows desktop platforms or ThinLinux
- Demonstrated experience with platforms and applications such as thick, thin, and zero clients – both “physical” and “virtual” – persistent and non-persistent
- Comfortable interacting with customers, both in person and over the phone
- Proficient in software installation, configuration, life cycle management, and inventory
- Demonstrated experience patching operating systems, Microsoft, and third-party patching
- Demonstrated experience working with remote monitoring and management tools
Technical Requirements:

Education: Qualified Bachelor's degree from accredited University OR one of the below certifications
- CompTIA Security CE
- GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Security Clearance
- This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. The ability to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph is also required.
