Drafting Supervisor

Summary: The primary job of the Detailer is to provide complete erection and shop drawings of all fabricated members with a complete bill of materials, including a list of field fasteners and miscellaneous items using applicable detailing standards and software.

Essential Functions: Create erection and fabrication drawings with Bill of Materials utilizing 3D and 2D software. Review drawings and specifications for conflicts and errors. Revise drawings as directed after Internal review / Approval and contract changes. Assist fabricators with questions, when necessary. Revise drawings per As-built markups. Handle multiple projects simultaneously in very fast-paced, production driven environment. Create PDF's of completed drawings. Meet deadlines for assigned projects. Shop visits as needed.

Respond to production issues with a sense of urgency

Strong written and verbal communication skills for multi-disciplinary team.

Must have ability to visualize and understand construction processes.

Must have ability to work on multiple tasks while under a time deadline without getting flustered and with minimal direction from others.

PREFERRRED QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge and experience in Storage Tank detailing with API 653, 650, 620 or AWWA D100 standards.

Knowledge of construction practices, AISC requirements. 5 years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD. 5 years of experience in Autodesk Inventor (or SolidWorks). 5 years of experience with structural steel detailing. 5 years of experience with storage tanks. AME Tank experience is a plus. Comprehension and ability to read drawings, redlines, welding symbols, etc. Excellent Attention to details is a Must. Ability to work with a team under pressure and on tight schedules. General Microsoft Office 365 experience. Highly organized and committed to producing accurate and complete work. College Degree or Detailing certification and 5 years of experience in related field or equivalent are preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND TASKS: Must be able to perform all duties in a manner that creates a safe environment for all employees.

Prepare complete AutoCAD drawings as designed by engineering team and within customer specifications and requirements.

Integrate with Engineering, Fabrication, and Field Personnel to create accurate drawings for distribution.

Resolve questionable areas relating to fabrication and erection capabilities with representatives of the individual department.

Work independently while adhering to company and drafting guidelines.

SCHEDULE: Office Hours are 7:00 4:00 Monday through Friday, with half hour for lunch.

Must have ability to work overtime when asked by supervisor.

WORK CONDITIONS: This job requires the worker to be at a desk for most of the day working on a computer, and make site visits as required.
