Position: Account Executive
Location: Work from Home (preference for applicants in the NYC/LA markets)
Reports to: Account Supervisor
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to create targeted press campaigns and 6-month to yearlong plans in conjunction with senior leads on the account that meet client objectives
- Plan and execute in-person and digital PR events (Product Launches, Celebrity Talent, Deskside Meetings, Store Openings, Press/Influencer Trips, etc.) with an organized and creative approach, overseeing run of show and assigned logistics
- Help manage paid media/influencer activity including social media content, digital content, sponsorships, appearances, etc. by helping to secure opportunities, contract/debrief and deliver results/reporting
- Ability to act as a day-to-day contact with clients, communicating with clients on weekly calls and via email
- Ability to write interesting, creative, and effective press releases, media alerts, pitches and brand materials
- Ability to garner media placements for clients on an ongoing basis, ensuring consistent coverage for new and current launches as well as larger brand/profile pieces and awards
- Ability to maintain client budgets for projects such as product launch events, creative mailings, pay-for-play opportunities and more
- Maintain a strong roster of media contacts within the beauty industry, as well as an overall understanding of the current and changing landscape
- Ability to execute media and influencer mailings, including: sourcing of synergistic gifting ideas, creating recipient lists and communicating next steps to team members
- Identify tastemakers for targeted programming, such as mailers, sponsored posts and more; ability to ideate and execute influencer programs via a variety of approaches
- Execute program recaps for PR/paid events, mailings and activations
- Help oversee and support account assistants in their daily tasks
- Manage and proactively plan for weekly and monthly reports executed by the team assistant, to ensure we portray mml PR’s efforts in the best light, meet deadlines as well as relay important brand needs effectively to our clients.
- Understand and analyze industry trends relevant to current client roster and incorporate in PR execution accordingly
- Assemble client launch recaps, outlining brand ROI for implemented activity
- Manage and liaison with vendors for various client projects including events, mailings, giftings and misc. needs to ensure an organized and efficient approach to execution
- Effectively communicate project updates based on tasks (assigned/in-progress/completed), driving internal deadlines
- Oversee the maintenance of media and influencer lists
Minimum Qualifications – Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of relevant agency experience
- Proven ability to work successfully within a team setting, keeping account assistants on track, while also supporting senior staff
- Proven success in project management, actioning against client deliverables in an organized and efficient way, while also meeting and maintaining client deadlines
- Possess an acute understanding of the media landscape as a whole
- Creative thinker with a proactive approach to executing client deliverables
- Understanding of the influencer space along with relevant contacts
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to secure top media placements on behalf of clients, demonstrated via previous client clips
- Experience working as liaison with clients on a day-to-day basis, serving as a key contact and leading on client calls, where applicable
- Demonstrates a high level of maturity, resourcefulness, and poise in an executive and corporate setting
- Holds a strong work ethic and standard for which tasks and projects are completed (attention to detail is a must)
- Demonstrates a proactive, go-getter approach, while remaining calm under pressure
- Maintains a positive and professional attitude in all situations
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task with multiple requests and deadlines
- Willingness to follow current trends and stay up to date on the latest happenings within the beauty and digital space
- Proficient in computer applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Cision. Bonus if accustomed to influencer tracking tools such as Mighty Scout and Tribe.
