Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, understand their needs, and recommend products or services to enhance their shopping experience.
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including inventory control, merchandising, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities.
- Lead and supervise team members by providing training, coaching, and development to foster a high-performing sales environment.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through POS (Point of Sale) systems, manage cashiering duties, and ensure proper cash handling procedures.
- Oversee employee orientation, interviewing new candidates, and participating in recruiting efforts to build a strong team.
- Implement pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and marketing initiatives to attract customers and increase sales.
- Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, sales reports, and inventory management for smooth operational flow.
- Manage shift schedules, monitor sales performance metrics, and ensure excellent customer service standards are consistently met.
- Utilize effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and resolve customer inquiries promptly.
Experience
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail sales or a grocery store setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in managing retail operations including inventory control, merchandising, and POS systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and employee supervision.
- Proficiency in retail math for pricing, budgeting, and financial record keeping.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer bases.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
