Your Future Role:
This role is responsible for helping the CFO oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a complicated family business with three primary revenue streams (retail, services & farming). As the assistant controller you will participate in not only the financial controls & operations of the business but also the strategic integration and analysis of the business. This position is a great opportunity to learn the accounting intricacies of multiple businesses and grow your career. Within a short time you will have an in depth understanding of an organization that operates in 4 separate software platforms (ERP's) best suited for each business entity.
Your Specific Job Responsibilities:
· Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
· Shows up on time ready work
· Answers all communications (phone, email, and in person)
· Processes salary and hourly payrolls
· Reconciles & reverses inter-company transactions
· Reconciles monthly bank statements
· Reviews retail revenue and corrects misclassified sales dollars
· Ensures use tax is properly accounted for
· Prepares and records multi-software entries to single ledger
· Reviews and records any necessary accruals
· Allocates monthly overhead entries to each division
· Reviews inter-company job costing expenses and allocates to correct divisions
· Prepares & reviews company financial statements prior to distribution
· Manages uniform inventory
· Learns as much as they can
· Identifies issues and opportunities that require Moana Nursery to change
Physical Requirements & Activity:
· Applicant must be able to navigate daily up & down staircase
· Be able to sit for long periods of time
· Be able to lift up to 30 pounds on occasion
Expertise & Experience Requirements:
· High School or equivalent degree; college business courses a plus
· Minimum 4 years of Accounting and General Ledger experience
· Strong verbal and written communications
· Applicant must be 10-key proficient
· Applicant must be able to adhere to required data entry accuracy
· Applicant must be able to maintain confidentiality required in Payroll functions
· Robust computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn ERP Systems)
Nice To Have Skills or Experiences:
· Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting
· Payroll processing experience
· Financial inventory experience
· Knowledge of horticulture or landscape accounting
· Works well under pressure and is able to prioritize and multi-task
· Experience with any of the following software: Paylocity, Epicor Eagle, Asset, or SBI Grower
Your Future Work Schedule:
Our administrative office operates Monday - Friday. This position requires attendance from 8:00 am to 5 pm with occasional weekend work. The annual payroll cycle will dictate monthly schedules.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
