Duties:
- Conduct audits of medical records, coding, and billing to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Review medical documentation to verify accuracy and completeness of coding and billing information
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud and report findings to management
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to address audit findings and implement corrective actions
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG systems, and medical coding/billing practices
- Experience working with medical records, medical office procedures, and medical collection processes
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information accurately
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to management and healthcare providers
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
