What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Maintenance Technician position at Modern Industries Inc?
GENERAL:
Responsible for a wide variety of machinery maintenance duties as assigned specializing in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in complex equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Maintain all machinery, machine tools, and keep equipment in good operating condition with minimal supervision. Repair Equipment that is critical to keep operations producing for many items used world wide.
Assist in all phases of the installation of new equipment. Join the team that helps us grow by installing and moving of equipment within the plants.
Troubleshoot machinery performance problems, plan repair methods and time required, and order replacement parts and material.
Look for ways to make things better, faster and less expensive.
While performing the assignments, suggest improvement ideas.
Willingness to learn new skills and advance.
Willingness to take needed educational classes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience maintaining commercial manufacturing equipment
- Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience
We Prefer:
- Experience maintaining industrial equipment
- Formal technical training in electricity, electronics, hydraulics and PLC's
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Will be on your feet a vast majority of the day.
- Capable of lifting and moving items that are associated with this job function. Modern has material handling items that can be used when lifting exceeds 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crawl, bend while on the job.
- Corrective lenses and safety glasses to be worn.
- Will require occasional stooping, kneeling and bending.
- Capable of using the internet to explore tools, spare parts, better ways to do things etc.
