Freshly Printed: The Role You've Been Looking For As a Trimmer, you play a critical role in ensuring quality and efficiency on the production floor. You'll be responsible for performing quality control checks both before production starts and while jobs are running. This includes inspecting, trimming, and stacking finished books according to job ticket specifications. You may be cross trained to operate additional bindery equipment as needed and will use our MIS system to track production data accurately. At times, you may also assist or instruct team members as directed by a supervisor to keep operations running smoothly.
From Setup to Finish: Your Role in the Process
- Review job ticket for specifications before production begins
- Conduct quality control checks prior to trimming
- Operate the trimmer to cut books and printed materials to size
- Inspect trimmed materials for accuracy and defects during the run
- Stack finished products neatly for packaging or next steps
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around the trimming station
- Assist with other bindery equipment as needed
- Enter job data and production details into the MIS system
- Follow production schedules and meet daily quotas
The Fine Print: What You Need to Succeed
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Mechanical knowledge or experience is highly appreciated
- Must be able to read and understand a job ticket
- Ability to work overtime when necessary
- Must have a good work and attendance record
- Ability to handle moderately heavy lifting (60 lbs), pulling, and pushing activity. May include reaching and stooping. Constant standing ( 8 hrs). Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule with occasional overtime
