Purpose of Job Position
The quality control technician is needed to ensure that the quality standards are being maintained during the manufacturing process. Ensuring that production procedures are being followed throughout the plant, but auditing operator testing results, and random sample collecting and testing. Ensure adherences to all safety policies put forth by the company. You will also assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Job Function
As a quality control technician, you are entrusted with the responsibility of aiding all operators, shift leads and shift supervisors. The primary purpose of your role is to ensure that all products coming off the line are cut to the correct specified dimensions, stacked on the proper size pallets and are free from any defects in manufacturing. You are required to work in a safe and courteous manner and ensure that your work area is kept clean and free from any hazards that may impede your ability to perform your job safely. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inspection reports.
- Create tests for quality control of products.
- Cut boards to sample size testing dimensions as required.
- Ensure compliance to company standards and specification for quality checks as needed to ensure a quality product.
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.
- Perform inspections across all stages of production.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of testing, deviations, and approved produced during the shift for review.
- Educate team members on the difference between conforming and non-conforming products.
- Communicate the results of inspection and put forward corrective suggestions with urgency.
- Utilize PlantMinder to document EOS reporting using the Auditor Notes section, this must be done before the end of the production shift. (ex. 7am, 3pm, 11pm)
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Attend and complete all training courses.
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly.
Safety
Follow established safety regulations to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, wearing proper PPE, etc. Follow established policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment to prevent work related injuries or illness.

Education
General Education
Experience
Quality control experience preferred; manufacturing experience preferred but not mandatory, on-the-job training.
Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to understand/carry out written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to use veneer calipers
- Must be able to read a measuring tape effectively.
- Must keep attendance in good standing.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 75lbs to a minimum height of 5’ feet and/or carry up to 10’ feet.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with others.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft office applications
- Strong regard for quality assurance according to company standards
- Good knowledge about industry products and processes
- Basic mathematical arithmetic, and working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret information
Job Type: Full-time
