Responsibilities:
MTSI is seeking a Program Director, to support the Missile Defense Agency’s Advanced Programs Directorate, which develops and delivers cutting edge counter missile threat systems, and capability threat development and analysis. This position is located in Huntsville, AL and requires full-time support at the Redstone Arsenal facility.
Responsibilities
A successful candidate must be a proven leader and possess a combination of program management acumen and technical expertise required to lead a multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed team to achieve superior performance in a dynamic and innovative workspace. You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program. You must have the ability to effectively communicate amongst the team, contractor and government, to inspire trust and an open rapport. Additionally, you will be expected to employ exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively analyze information, identify problems, and develop and implement effective solutions.
In this position, you are the Government’s single point of accountability and primary interface for the management and execution of a ~ $10M/year SETA support contract. You will have the responsibility and authority for overall compliance with, and full visibility on all aspects of contractual requirements, from acquisition and engineering through operations and sustainment. Equally important, you will be expected to foresee and identify challenges and opportunities; and trusted to provide objective resolution recommendations.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
- Lead Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for MDA/CRP.
- Principle strategic advisor to MDA/CRP leadership.
- Executive management experience.
- Expert ability to lead team, provide program support, and collaborate across programs – synchronizing multiple functional elements to achieve overarching organizational objectives.
- Clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy communicate —oral and written – to MDA internal stakeholders as well as external mission partners (Flag-level and senior SES)
- Deliver Monthly Status Reports on all support efforts including updates in status and performance, major activities, challenges and opportunities, deliverables, and subcontractor performance.
- Directly manage and negotiate SETA personnel hiring decisions, contract modifications, equipment/training/travel coordination, invoicing, CDRL deliveries, and all aspects of SETA subcontracting.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Fifteen (15) years of program management experience (DoD or industry.
- Working knowledge in two (2) or more of the following functional areas: engineering; operations; test; and sustainment/logistics.
- Undergraduate degree applicable to candidate’s career field and at least eighteen (18) years of relevant work experience, or graduate degree applicable to candidate’s career field and at least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and SCI programs.
- Experience with rapid prototyping of highly technical missile defense solutions.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility.
- S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Location and Travel:
- Full-time, on-site Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of time (CONUS and OCONUS). Travel typically less than 5 days with occasional extended travel to support test and operations (NTE 30 days).
