Associate Director, Quality Assurance

The Role: Moderna is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Leader to join a dynamic team at our start-up facility in Marlborough, MA. As the Associate Director of Quality, you will be responsible for implementing, overseeing and supporting quality functions, such as equipment and process validations, quality systems, and quality operations that support the start-up and commercialization activities. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in ensuring support for the Individual Neoantigen Therapy program. A successful candidate will be versatile, resilient, and responsive to change to effectively manage shifting project timelines and priorities. Here’s What You’ll Do: Serve as the Quality Leader (point of contact) for the new facility during the site readiness activities Make quality decisions that will impact facility design, implementation and operations, ensuring appropriate escalations as needed. Oversee the validation activities for equipment, processes, and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Support preparation and performance of engineering, PPQ, and new commercial batches Author, review, and approve SOPs, policies and batch production/testing records to ensure compliance and adherence to regulations/cGMP operations. Identify, hire, mentor and support the development of QA staff as needed to support project. Reviews and approves critical quality documentation. Participate in quality focused teams across Moderna’s broad ecosystem of functions. Ensures compliance with site policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices, as it relates to commission, qualification, and validation and risk management activities. Demonstrate good knowledge of standard manufacturing compliance, quality disposition, quality system review. Ensure adherence to current good manufacturing practices that meet multiple regulatory health care requirements. A minimum of 3 years leading a team.
