Moffatt & Nichol is searching for a Junior Level Electrical Engineer to join our Long Beach, CA, Tampa, FL, Savannah, GA, Norfolk, VA, or Vancouver office. The successful new hire will assist in the planning, design, and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.

Duties & responsibilities:

- Assist in the completion of electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
- Assist project managers by providing design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
- Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- Lighting systems
- Lightning protection systems
- Grounding systems
- Communications systems
- Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Selective coordination and arc flash studies
- Assist with the electrical designs of multidiscipline projects
- Assist with evaluation of project scopes
- Assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's Degree Preferred
- At least 2 years of related experience in:
- Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
- Grounding systems
- Lighting systems
- Communications systems
- Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
- Selective coordination and arc flash studies
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is required
- Proficiency ETAP or EasyPower and AGI32
- Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hires
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
Base salary range:
$39.84 to $48.70 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.
Physical demands:
Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period of time.
