Summary
Job Summary
Position Highlights:
- The Scheduling Coordinator OR for Perioperative Services functions as a facilitator for written and verbal communications regarding scheduling of patient surgical procedures in the Operating Room.
- Serves as the primary resource for physicians and clinic schedulers to ensure patient's surgical procedures, both inpatient and outpatient, are accurately scheduled in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with anesthesia providers, medical doctors, RN's, APP's, and physician office schedulers to assure the correct procedure, necessary instrumentation and equipment is requested to ensure a thorough and accurate procedure scheduling.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Associates Degree or some college
- Two (2) years of scheduling experience or prior medical experience as a scheduler in a hospital/clinic with complex scheduling algorithms
- Prior oncology-related scheduling experience and scheduling experience at Moffitt
- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
Responsibilities:
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments requiring multiple resources and interdependencies. Communicates with all stakeholders including patients in the manner preferred by each (email, report, phone, etc.). Obtains medical records as needed from outside providers.

- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience or prior medical experience as a scheduler in a hospital/clinic with complex scheduling algorithms is required.
