  • Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working

conditions would include but not limited to:**

  • [Work does require traveling throughout the county while operating

and handling a motor vehicle in adverse traffic conditions, weather,

terrain, and altitudes ranging anywhere from 541 feet to up

approximately 8,500 feet.]{#isPasted}

  • [Work outdoors performing moderate to strenuous manual labor in

varying weather conditions, including strong winds, extreme heat to

extreme cold temperatures.]{#isPasted}

  • [Possible exposure to smoke and heat due to the performance of

firefighting activities.]{#isPasted}

  • [Involves exposure to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil, grease,

hazardous materials, and loud noises from equipment.]{#isPasted}

  • [The ability to frequently be able to lift 25lbs up to 150lbs or

more while operating heavy equipment.]{#isPasted}

  • [This position requires an equal amount of time spent standing,

walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling,

## Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and implements special events, special projects, and media

events (including social media) to increase park usage and revenue

using available resources including assigned park personnel and

volunteers.

  • Performs parks and recreation master planning; improvement and

maintenance project scoping and programming; and strategic goals and

objectives development.

  • Supervises the activities of assigned staff to ensure that park

maintenance and special projects are completed in accordance with

division goals and program objectives.

  • Assists in planning, scheduling, and coordinating programs,

activities, and operations for personnel.

  • Reviews the effectiveness of division services, conditions of park

facilities, and monitors public demands and trends within the parks

and recreation field.

  • Maintains Division APWA/CAPRA accreditation program files and

ensures compliance with current practices.

  • Researches, composes, and submits grant proposals through various

private, state, and federal grant programs.

  • Surveys and studies other agencies and make recommendations for fees

and charges for facilities and services.

  • Assists in and coordinates activities and programs with other

county, state, and federal agencies.

  • Develops concession contracts to provide additional services and

revenue sources at County parks.

  • Prepares schematic drawings and renderings along with cost estimates

and construction specifications, for park improvement projects.

  • Assists in construction management by working with contractors to

ensure construction projects are accomplished according to the

plans.

  • Assists the general public in the resolution of problems and

situations and answers routine correspondence.

  • Develops required reports, forms, brochures, newsletter articles, or

other documentation and promotional material toward advancing

customer awareness and use of parks services and amenities.

  • Develops and tracks performance measures.
  • Represents the division before community groups and leads

discussions to obtain input on the local parks and recreation needs

of the community.
