Under the direct supervision of the manager or designee, the Patient Registration Clerk arranges for the efficient and accurate registration of patients of both scheduled and walk in services. In the absence of a Cashier, performs cashier related duties.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Use pre-determined interviewing techniques and scripting when obtaining information from patients and/or patient representatives
- Assign and change guarantors accurately, further ensuring patient confidentiality
- Understand, explain, and accurately complete required facility forms before obtaining and witnessing patient signatures
- Checks AccuReg daily and corrects errors
- Ensure all accounts are corrected prior to final bill drop
- Collect Point of Service collections and process transactions as outlined in the department’s POS collection policy.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
