What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender position at Mola?
Mola is a startup restaurant in Adams Morgan elevating Panamanian-Caribbean cuisine found in home kitchens. We serve food made from scratch, crafted cocktails, freshly pressed juices, and our line of Panamanian coffee.
We are looking for a part-time Server. Our Server interacts with Mola guests, eagerly creating special experiences for them. As a Server, you’ll handcraft delicious cocktails according to the recipe (and espresso beverages, if your skills extend to barista), run food, and serve our guests, while upholding cleanliness, preciseness, and customer service. You exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow colleagues. Honesty and dependability are required.
Responsibilities
- Take excellent care of all guests. This includes assessing the needs of each guest you encounter, assuring the quality of our products and services.
- Interact with all guests in an engaging and welcoming fashion, establishing yourself as a positive representation of the Restaurant.
- Has the ability and drive to study and genuinely sell the restaurant's foods and beverages, while maintaining customer service standards.
- Consistent communication with your teammates and management team to ensure critical information is relayed efficiently as needed.
- Establish and maintain a constructive and cooperative working relationship with your teammates and managers, both in the Front and Back of House.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about service
- Help to build and maintain a team-oriented environment in the workplace by bringing a consistent work ethic and participation level to every shift.
- Checks orders for accuracy
- Consistently assist your teammates with their own responsibilities anytime they are busy, and you are not.
- Continually educate yourself on the specifics of menu item recipes, methods of preparation, creative ways to sell the proper mix of items to your guests resulting in higher check averages.
- Comply with and execute all Mola policies and procedures regarding guest credentials to establish legal drinking age and identity, as well as other company policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED are preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience as a server is preferred, but not required.
- Can multi-task and be responsible for other areas of the store.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
- Must have good organizational, time management and sales skills.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be dependable, reliable and be driven with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a high level of awareness, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Must be both effective and efficient at multi-tasking in pressure situations.
- Opening and/or closing the store, available to working late hours and weekend
- Previous experience as a barista is a plus, but not required
- Must have reliable transportation to work
Requirements:
- Position requires handling, eye-hand coordination, stooping, kneeling, and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession. This position may on occasion require the lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing of up to approximately 21-50lbs.
- Must be able to work in a confined area for multiple hours in succession.

Average hourly wage rate greater than $20 with tips!
