Job description

Molded Fiber Glass Union City is celebrating 65 proud years in Union City, PA. With 50 highly specialized teammates, we have successfully completed over 50,000 projects and counting! MFG Union City has the resources to produce, assemble and paint sizeable Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) structures. We are currently looking to fill about 30 positions due to our continual expansion within the Fiberglass industry. FINISHER

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Scuff/sand product as required.
  • Inspect and identify defects per work instructions.
  • Repair and finish defects per work instructions.
  • Touch-up product as required.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work tools such as sanders and drills.
  • Monitor bake ovens and timer. Remove/add parts per standard procedures and work instructions.
  • Cleaning and maintaining safety equipment such as respirators and safety glasses.
  • Pushing and pulling parts/carts through line.
  • Cleaning work areas at the end of the workday.
  • Working in a safe manner and following all safety rules.
  • Accurately completing labor ticket at the end of the shift.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean.
  • Adhere to break and lunch schedules.
  • Other activities or tasks as assigned.

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Position requires light to moderate physical requirements including pushing/pulling, lifting, bending/stretching and standing.
  • Able to follow directions from Team Leaders.
  • Able to work with others as a team.

LAMINATOR

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring gelcoat is dry to the touch prior to beginning to apply glass and resin.
  • Work with other teammates in rolling out chopped strand and/or resin-soaked mat onto molds.
  • Rolling the material in the proper manner so as to minimize the presence of air in the laminate.
  • Identifying and wet trimming parts as necessary.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work tools such as rollers and brushes.
  • Cleaning and maintaining safety equipment such as respirators, and aprons.
  • Pushing pulling molds into and out of booths.
  • Cleaning work areas at the end of the workday.
  • Working in a safe manner and following all safety rules.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean.
  • Accurately completing labor ticket at the end of the shift.
  • Adhere to break and lunch schedules.
  • Other activities or tasks as assigned.

ATTRIBUTES:

TRIMMER

Gauge and grind parts to acceptable part thickness per applicable standard procedures and work instructions.

A. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizing supplied go/no-go gauges determining if part meets thickness specification and reworking where necessary.
  • Adding glass to areas of the part that are too thin.
  • Re-measuring parts with go/no-go gauges to ensure they meet thickness specification.
  • Utilize cutting wheels and grinders to cut/grind parts to scribes or other designations on part.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work tools such as grinders, cutting wheels and go/no-gauges.
  • Cleaning and maintaining safety equipment such as respirators and dust masks.
  • Locate part and transport to work station.
  • Transporting part to next stage of process.
  • Cleaning work areas at the end of the work day.
  • Working in a safe manner and following all safety rules.
  • Responsible for keeping work areas clean including sweeping up dust and disposing of properly.
  • Accurately completing labor ticket at the end of the shift.
  • Adhere to break and lunch schedules.
  • Other activities or tasks as assigned.

C. ATTRIBUTES:

  • Position requires heavy physical requirements including lifting, pushing/pulling, lifting, bending/stretching and standing.
  • Able to follow directions from Team Leaders.
  • Able to work with others as a team.
