The Headlines:
In the role of Occupational Health Nurse working in Trenton, OH, you will be part of the Safety Team. You will be responsible for the treatment of ill/injured employees, medical accomodations, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, sickness & accident case management, OSHA regulatory compliance, safety support, and health/wellness programs.
This position reports to the Safety Manager and works closely with a variety of operational business units.
The Responsibilities:
• Responsible for health services activities and programs including Medgate, hearing conservation, and respiratory protection to maintain compliance with OSHA and corporate safety/health standards
• Supervise the inventory and reordering of medical supplies needed
• Administer and/or direct the care of ill/injured employees
• Administer the safety glasses program to include specification and procurement of prescription glasses
• Coordinate the blood borne pathogen training program
• Assist with Worker’s Compensation, Sickness & Accident, and FMLA programs which includes all aspects of case management and compliance with state law
• Coordinate training and activities of First Responder program and participants
• Develop, implement, and communicate employee wellness programs
The Other Qualifications:
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Possess a current nursing license in the state of Ohio
• You have at least four (4) years’ experience in Occupational Health, Ergonomics, and Safety
• You have at least five (5) years’ experience in Worker’s Compensation Case Management
• Knowledge of industrial wellness programs, OSHA compliance requirements, and other industrial safety/health standards
• Proficient in Microsoft office programs
• Experience conducting respirator fit testing, hearing tests, and vaccine administration.
• You are a confident and competent self-starter and able to multi-task while maintaining inter-departmental relationships.
• You can complete projects quickly and flex with business priorities.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
