Job Description: Money Smarts is a fast-paced efficient accounting firm providing quality, timely, accurate and affordable accounting services to small businesses in Nebraska. We perform monthly work with a team mentality using and developing systems of efficiency.
Account Specialist Job Responsibilities: An Account Specialist works as the member of a team to maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounting records. Maintains an excellent working relationship with assigned clients as the first contact for Money Smarts.
Bookkeeper Job Duties:
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Develops and maintains a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; assisting with defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining company email accounts
- Maintains accounts by verifying and posting transactions.
- Balances accounts by reconciling entries.
- Assist in preparation of financial reports
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Proven bookkeeping experience and data entry skills
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Customer service oriented both on the phone and in person.
- Calculation of payroll
- Direct contact with Money Smarts clients, and customer service a must.

Education and Experience
Associates degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
