Tax Accountant Job Responsibilities: A Tax Accountant works as the member of a team and independently to ensure legal and financial compliance and filing of tax returns. Commit to, understand, and sell the vision of Money Smarts Inc. Be always conscious of the mission of the company and moving work to move it forward.
Tax Accountant Job Duties:
§ Maintain required level of technical knowledge.
§ Prepare various federal and state income tax returns.
§ Prepare various personal property tax returns.
§ Prepare/Review other various tax filings.
§ Research projects.
§ Assist in maintaining our tax preparation system and electronic filing.
§ Keep abreast of current developments in the tax area.
§ Provide an information source in the tax area within the company.
§ Other tax projects as they arise.
§ Complete tax planning and analysis for service contract clients.
§ Conduct client interviews and in person calculation of taxes.
§ Be a team player and assist with other duties, or coworkers with theirs as needed.
§ Develop staff members teaching skills necessary where needed
§ Effective and timely communication with staff to move production forward.
§ Become an expert at being solution conscious
Education and Experience
§ Associate degree or equivalent; or two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
§ CPA or Enrolled Agent Preferred.
§ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, as well as communication from government agencies.
§ Ability to write reports, business correspondence
§ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
§ Ability to work with mathematical concepts
§ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $32.50 per hour
