What are the responsibilities and job description for the Syrup Technician - 2nd Shift position at Monin, Inc?
Position Summary: The Syrup Tech works to produce syrups, purees and concentrated flavors in accordance with Monin quality standards, GMPs, Safe Quality Food requirements and FDA guidelines for safe production of food products. Multiple levels of this role may be achieved through increased skill set and responsibility level.
Essential Job Functions:
- Material Handling - print material requisition sheets and use Navision and inventory gun to locate and weigh raw materials according to formulas, using metric unit of measure.
- Manage & coordinate with QA to retest and discard expired raw materials.
- Batch assist during syrup production.
- Maintain raw material locations and organization both physically and in Navision and assist in cycle counting.
- Confirm with R&D material requisition sheet for accuracy and version prior to staging and weighing raw ingredients. (1 time run) and pull samples for R&D when needed.
- Perform CIP functions on various batching equipment and perform titrations on cleaning chemicals.
- Unload liquid sugar and dry sugar.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and complete cleaning checklists
- Ensure that all work instructions and job aids are followed, and all documentation and quality checks are completed following SQF requirements.
- Use continuous improvement mindset to improve processes
- Ability to troubleshoot process nonconformities, identify root causes and take corrective action.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area and follow chemical handling procedures.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management
- Weigh and stage ingredients for scheduled syrup batches
- Upholds and inspires adoption of company mission and values.

Qualifications:
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Must be able and willing to learn clean-in-place (CIP) controls, Factory Talk Batch and Navision
- Ability to stand, reach, walk, stoop, push, pull and lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work in a wet environment with some exposure to cleaning chemicals
