Salary based on experience and trial skills: $50,000 – $150,000

• Collaborate with and learn from each other and a mentor with 50 years of criminal defense trial experience | https://monnat.com/dan-monnat/

• Deeply review, study, and investigate clients’ unique facts and the law.

• Travel to courtrooms throughout the state.

• Conduct scene investigations on your own or with the assistance of experienced private investigators.

• Skillfully research and craft pleadings, motions, trial briefs, and legal memoranda that tell our clients’ stories and unique circumstances.

• Strategically anticipate the government’s moves several steps ahead to avoid crisis and drama. We start preparing for trial on Day 1.

• Stage mock opening statements, cross examinations, and closing arguments with constructive critiques from attorneys, staff, and trial consultants.

• Be prepared to go to trial! We do not enter cases just to plead them out as soon as possible. We try cases to judges and juries.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) and an active membership in the Kansas bar or willingness to join or waive into the Kansas Bar
• A burning desire to practice criminal defense
