What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Buyer position at MONOGRAM MANAGEMENT SERVICES INC?
Manage the overall Monogram Foods/Supplier relationship at Plant level: Includes sourcing, negotiating, planning, and analyzing commodities to align Monogram Foods with strategic suppliers.
Essential Job Duties& Responsibilities:

Purchase ingredients, supplies and packaging materials; as assigned
- Place purchase orders with suppliers
- Contact suppliers to get updates on orders, expedite, and troubleshoot late shipments if necessary

Resolve freight/shipment issues, address quality concerns and pricing discrepancies
- Arrange return, replacement and credit for problem deliveries
- Support cross functional activities and interact with Logistics, Quality, Marketing, R & D and Sales to assess current and future sourcing requirements
- Coordinate regularly with scheduling, accounting, and production departments
- Monitor purchases and inventory replenishment of materials/ingredient inventories to meet weekly production requirements

Actively seek opportunities to improve quality, service and cost of all materials/services
- Conduct RFPs to optimize supply chain
- Dispose of surplus materials where applicable
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma (AS degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred)
- 1 or more years of professional related experience required (Purchasing experience preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and customer service experience desired
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills required
- Working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, v-lookups, and pivot tables)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be 18 years or older.

Proficient with a variety of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and specialized software designed to facilitate the tracking of raw materials, finished goods and inventory. Hands-on experience preparing financial spreadsheets and extracting data from databases to prepare reports for analysis. Must have strong interpersonal skills to support all inter-related functions with strong customer service techniques, practices and principles. Strong ability to plan and organize work to meet changing priorities and deadlines. Must be able to effectively perform multiple, concurrent tasks with constant interruptions. Experience working in plant environment preferred Advanced user of Excel preferred Demonstrated ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at an intermediate level
