What are the responsibilities and job description for the REGIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL High School Earth Science Regents Review Teacher-Gates Chili HS-2025 position at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES?
Teach the following summer school Regents review course:
- High School Review Courses: Earth Science
Program Dates:
- Three (3) hours for data review required prior to August start
- August 11 - August 18, four (4) hours per day
- August 19 & 20, seven (7) hours per day, proctoring and scoring exams
- August 21, hourly, (if needed) as determined by summer school principal
- Must be able to work all dates
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Plan and teach lessons during the review session that incorporate student electronic devices.
- Prepare students for state assessments.
- Proctor and rate Regents examinations as needed.
- Bring own non-consumable materials such as books from home school, stapler, ruler, non-consumable desk supplies. BOCES 2 will provide consumable paper, and dry erase supplies.
- Classroom management, including home contact.
- Ensure IEP met for students with disabilities, particularly regarding test accommodations and reasonable classroom modifications (collaborate with on-site teacher consultant).
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Regional Summer School site principal.
Job Qualifications
Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred.
Educational: Appropriate NYS Teacher Certification required.
