What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Manager position at Monster Energy?
This position manages all aspects of Accounts Payable to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors. Must analyze processes and identify ways to make to improve on them for the department and company. Must be a positive role model to the AP staff by coaching, teaching, and mentoring them.
Essential Job Functions:
- Guide, teach, mentor, and manage a high number of AP staff
- Ensure that vendors are paid in accordance with company policy; enforces and adheres to internal controls for the AP function
- Implement and improve on accounting processes and systems
- Analyze KPI numbers and ensure productivity and efficiency of processes
- Interview, hiring, and reviews of staff
- Prepare/Manage payment transactions globally (ACH, checks, and international/domestic wires)
- Prepare journal entries
- Prepare reports and analysis as requested by Senior Management
- Participate in the recurring month-end processes, including the management of AP cut-offs
- Maintain vendor records
- Tax Levy
- Prepare 1099-Misc tax forms
- Assist with legal requests
- Serve as a resource to staff, department managers and others for interpreting policies, procedures and regulations relating to A/P
- Special projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
- 7 or more years of full cycle accounts payable in a fast-paced environment
- 4 or more years prior experience as a supervisor College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred
- Prior knowledge and experience with International payments/banking requirements (doing business in 20-25 countries)
- SAP Experience is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word (vlookups & pivot tables)
- Prior knowledge of freight and inventory
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proactive and have a strong sense of urgency
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to recognize and meet deadlines and prioritize and follow up accordingly
- Willingness to perform other departmental or cross-departmental duties as required
