Position Summary

The Field Training Manager will develop, enrich and support the knowledge, skills and behaviors of our geographically dispersed sales force to maximize its capacity to achieve results. The primary goals of this key role are to (1) Execute the Sales Onboarding Strategy to ensure that new members of the sales team progress along with the MEC sales methodology, and that they perform at the highest levels of proficiency as quickly as possible; and (2) Provide Ongoing Performance Support to ensure sales team members continue to build capability to drive performance and enable MEC to reach its strategic potential; and (3) Deploy new systems & technology with MEC Sales & our bottler partners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop MU content courses/lessons by collaborating with the BU & bottlers for relevant market info.
  • Partner with BU management to identify training & development needs.
  • Create, build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the assigned region in order to ensure the sales teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills and resources to grow the portfolio of Monster Energy products in the assigned territory.
  • Keep abreast and report on products, category, innovation, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends to train others on its value in the selling process.
  • Prepare new sales representatives by conducting orientation to sales process, reporting tools available and communicating expectations of the role; develop individual coaching plans; provide resources and assistance; schedule orientation ride-alongs with senior representatives.
  • Develop individual results by maintaining policy and procedure resources; provide coaching; conduct training sessions; develop outcome improvement resources.
  • Improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques; make support readily available; integrate support with routine job functions.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.
  • Work collectively with members of the Sales Operations Training Department to develop new training programs and platforms to empower the sales teams’ effectiveness in their roles.
  • Provides support to both the Business Unit and the Training Department with respect to idea collection and distribution.
  • Ensure the effective deployment and training on new systems as defined by the Training Department.
  • Determines training requirements by studying sales and marketing strategic plans and current sales results; conferring with sales executives; reviewing results of trainer coaching; evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Gathers feedback from trainees following training to determine instructional & content effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and report training program(s) effectiveness, and implement changes as needed.
  • Attends Business Unit meetings on a regular basis.
  • Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, applicable training certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience, beverage experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a leader of others.
  • Must be organized, able to multitask and manage competing priorities while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A forward thinking, perceptive individual, capable of influencing others and effectively interacting with individuals at all levels of the Company. Excellent customer service skills and team oriented.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to prioritize/multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • An enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to shift priorities based on the organizations’ needs.
  • Self-motivated and able to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions, take ownership/accountability and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Integrity, professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality essential.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint ability to collaborate at all levels
  • Experience with forecasting, Nielsen/IRI, POS and Inventory reports.
  • Must be a fast-learner and comfortable with learning new technology.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed (80%).
  • Experience in the following is a plus: Training, Training Management, Performance Management, Motivating Others, Giving Feedback, Coaching, Self-Development, Motivation for Sales, Self-Confidence, Sales Planning, Orienting Employees.

Base Salary Range: $77,969 - $97,125 ( )
